Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (referred to as Yangzi Petrochemical) is a large integrated petrochemical production base in China with complete production units for synthetic rubber. It can stably mass-produce multiple grades of cold emulsion polymerized styrene butadiene rubber (ESBR). SBR1500E is an environmentally modified grade of the standard 1500 series base rubber developed for mid-to-high-end rubber goods markets, categorized as general-purpose soft ESBR manufactured via cold emulsion polymerization.
Conventional industry-grade SBR1500 is a traditional non-environmentally compliant ESBR. Based on the original molecular structure process, SBR1500E features an optimized emulsifier system that inhibits the generation of nitroso compounds and nitrosamine precursors throughout production. It meets domestic and overseas environmental testing standards for tire exports, breaking through environmental trade barriers for rubber raw materials imposed by the EU. Currently, it is one of the mainstream general-purpose eco-friendly styrene butadiene rubbers widely adopted by China’s rubber processing industry.
All key physical and chemical parameters below are tested against Yangzi Petrochemical’s internal corporate standards and national specifications including GB/T 8657, GB/T 1232.1 and GB/T 528:
The suffix "E" denotes environmentally modified production technology. A nitrosamine-free rosin/fatty acid composite emulsifier is deployed in polymerization. Third-party authoritative testing verifies low nitrosamine content, making the grade suitable for exported tires and industrial rubber goods while avoiding restrictions under overseas environmental regulations. It serves as a major domestic alternative to imported eco-friendly styrene butadiene rubber.
The raw rubber boasts excellent auto-adhesion and good compatibility with carbon black and reinforcing fillers. It runs smoothly through calendering and extrusion processes without extra tackifier additives. Uniform vulcanization speed adapts to large-scale continuous rubber production lines, cutting processing energy consumption and reject rates.
It can be blended with natural rubber, polybutadiene rubber and other synthetic rubbers at any mixing ratio, compatible with carbon black reinforcement systems. Vulcanized finished products deliver outstanding abrasion resistance, flex cracking resistance and ozone aging resistance, resisting cracking under long-term service.
Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical self-supplies upstream raw materials butadiene and styrene to control impurity levels at the source. Fully automated closed-loop control covers polymerization temperature, coagulation and drying processes, achieving an annual conformance rate of over 85%. Physical property variations remain limited for bulk purchases, making it ideal for long-term stockpiling by tire manufacturers and large rubber goods producers.
SBR1500E is a staining rubber grade that forms dark compounds after vulcanization, prioritized for black and dark-colored rubber goods. Its key downstream applications include:
Note: This grade is not recommended for light-colored or transparent rubber goods; SBR1502E non-staining series is the preferred raw material for light-colored products.
Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical SBR1500E combines the superior mechanical performance of general-purpose styrene butadiene rubber with low-nitrosamine environmental compliance. Self-produced upstream raw materials guarantee stable supply, and its processing characteristics match most domestic rubber vulcanization production lines. It is a cost-effective general synthetic rubber raw material for manufacturers of tires, industrial conveyor belts, black rubber hoses and other products. For rubber production projects requiring export environmental compliance and consistent batch quality, this grade delivers remarkable substitution benefits.
